The Chiefs and Raiders are facing off, but there are some notable players who won’t be taking the field. Among them, Isiah Pacheco and George Karlaftis have been ruled inactive for the game. On Friday, the Chiefs had already confirmed that guard Trey Smith would not participate due to a persistent ankle injury, as detailed in their final injury report. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy has also been listed as doubtful because of an illness, meaning he will not play. Both running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end George Karlaftis were seen participating in practice throughout the week, albeit with a designation for rest, and after being marked as questionable, they won’t be suiting up for this matchup.
Also noteworthy is defensive tackle Jerry Tillery, who was marked as questionable after missing Friday’s session for personal reasons. However, he is set to be active for the game. The Chiefs have decided to hold out cornerback Melvin Smith Jr., defensive end Tyreke Smith, and nose tackle Mike Pennel as well.
In a strategic move, Kansas City has elevated practice squad wide receivers Jason Bronwlee and Jimmy Holiday to the active roster just ahead of the game. This means they will play today, but they will automatically revert back to the practice squad following the game. This contest marks a significant moment for Holiday, as it will be his debut in the NFL.
On the other side of the field, the Raiders have also made their inactives known. Quarterback Geno Smith was already confirmed as out due to an ankle injury, which led to backup Kenny Pickett stepping in as the starter for Las Vegas. Additionally, guard Dylan Parham has been ruled out due to illness, along with defensive tackle Adam Butler, who is dealing with a biceps injury.
The Raiders will also be without running back Raheem Mostert, cornerback Chigozie Anusiem, safety Terrell Edmunds, and defensive tackle Brodric Martin, who was recently on the Chiefs’ practice squad.
To bolster their lineup, the Raiders have elevated linebacker Jamin Davis and tackle Dalton Wagner, both of whom will be available for today's game.
