In an exclusive interview with Metal Hammer, co-founding vocalist Su-metal shared her admiration, stating, "Amy Lee is an artist I have admired for such a long time. I hope we can collaborate with her someday." It's clear that Babymetal is aiming high, and the potential for a genre-bending track is exciting.
But here's where it gets interesting: Su-metal also dove into Babymetal's recent collaboration with Five Finger Death Punch, a re-recording of their song "The End." This project was part of a special 20th-anniversary celebration for the American band. Su-metal explained how she approached the Japanese lyrics, drawing inspiration from the original and experimenting with her vocal style to fit the song's deep, cool vibe. She highlighted a favorite moment: the seamless transition from the chorus into the break, where her voice intertwines with Ivan's growl, creating a chilling effect.
And this is the part most people miss: The band's recent album, Metal Forth, showcased a series of collaborations with artists like Poppy, Electric Callboy, and Spiritbox, among others. Amy Lee, too, has been busy teaming up with other artists, participating in one of the year's biggest crossover efforts on the song "End Of You," alongside Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante.
But here's a potential snag: Evanescence has a massive world tour planned for 2026, which could make scheduling a collaboration a challenge. They'll be touring North America with Spiritbox and Nova Twins, hitting the UK with Poppy and K. Flay, and then Europe with Poppy and Nova Twins. They're even set for a standalone show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Adding to the excitement, a new album is on the horizon, with the song "Afterlife" already released as part of the Devil May Cry TV series soundtrack.
